NEW KETTLES: plus a recipe for apple crisp
We are happy to introduce a line of kettles to Breeo’s product inventory.
These kettles and dutch ovens are the perfect match to our smoke-reducing, wood-burning fire pits. Their heavy-duty, fire-resistant build makes them the perfect accompaniment to any grilling fest. Whether you cook a stew, try out this baked bean recipe, or put in a little desert after the steaks are grilled, you’ll be sure to love these kettles, big and small.
Even if you have no accessories, you can always make an oven environment right down in the coals of any of our smoke-less fire pits.
If you’re ready to try it out on one of Breeo’s smoke-reducing fire pits, following is a delicious Apple Crisp recipe we have tried out in the Double Flame fire pit.
Dutch Oven Apple Crisp for Campfires
1-1/2 sticks of butter
1 pound brown sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon
9 oz quick oats
4 pounds apples
Make sure you have a hot bed of coals in your fire pit to begin. See this how to guide here.
- Core and slice the apples.
- Layer the apple slices in the bottom of the kettle. (Throw in a bit of lemon juice to prevent browning, if you’d like.)
- Mix the cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar a separate bowl. Cut in butter.
The mix should be fine and crumbly.
- Pour the mix evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle water over the top.
- Put on lid, and place the kettle down in the coals in your fire pit.
- Cook for about 45-55 minutes.
Check every 10 minutes or so. If the crust is drying out, add water as necessary.
- Top with ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy!
New Wood Burning Fire Pit Launch – Zentro Basic
Introducing our newest Zentro fire pit, the Zentro Basic! The idea for this new wood burning fire pit launch, came as a result of seeing a need in the market for a standard fire pit that has; a high quality build, is made in the USA, and is a competitive price in the standard fire pit market. We wanted to provide the market with a fire pit that was not like your average big box store fire pits. A fire pit that is strong and durable, looks great, and can be bought for an affordable price. The result we came up with is our new Zentro Basic fire pit, built by skilled, Amish Craftsman in the USA
Our Zentro Basic fire pit has several similarities to our original Zentro fire pit. It looks similar, has a similar design, burns wood, uses the same cooking accessories and is made to fit in block fire rings. However, one very distinctive difference is the fact that it does not come with the smoke-reducing technology that our original Zentro fire pit has. Not having this smoke-reducing technology allows the fire pit to keep its high quality build, yet keeps it at a very competitive price with standard fire pits in the market.
Specifications – The Zentro Basic fire pit is built to fit into a block fire ring with a diameter of 30”. If a larger diameter than 30” is needed, we offer a Basic Retro Fit Ring that can be purchased with the fire pit. This Retro Fit Ring will extend the diameter of the fire pit, to fit a block fire ring with a diameter of 31”- 36”. Though the fire pit does not come with the smoke-reducing technology, it does have holes on the bottom, covered by metal slats for protection, to allow air flow and water drainage. The fire pit is built with a flat bottom, so it can be set on the ground instead of being inserted into a block fire ring, if desired. A metal lid can also be purchased with the fire pit, to help protect the inside of the fire pit from the weather when it’s not in use.
